  • Counseling referrals
  • Survivor gatherings
  • One-on-one survivor accompaniment
  • Workshops and training on caring for and supporting survivors

  • Hope and Healing Masses in support of parishioners and at the invitation of pastors

Does the diocese provide financial support for Journey to Bethany?

At present, the diocese provides a generous donation to Journey to Bethany. In addition, the  Victim Assistance Coordinator for the diocese spends 50% of their time on Journey to Bethany’s projects. Most importantly, we meet regularly with Bishop Johnston to bring survivor needs to his attention and to develop further support as needed.

What else can I do?

Before Journey to Bethany was founded, we surveyed parishioners and clergy. We found that there are many who want to help in this work. Here are some ways to do so:

Prayer: Visit our prayer page to pray for the needs of the community and make your own requests.

Volunteer: Join our email list to be notified of when event volunteers are needed.

Volunteers with special skills – We provide training for people who want to accompany survivors on a one-to-one basis. We also need volunteers with social media, website or database skills. Journey to Bethany is, at its core, a community effort. The more volunteers we engage, the more we help heal our diocese. Contact us to learn more.
