CARING FOR YOURSELF AND OTHERS AT THE HOLIDAYS

Survivors of trauma like clergy sexual abuse have a lot going on neurobiologically that can make seemingly joyous occasions feel overwhelming and unsafe. We encourage you to be aware that the people, events, sounds and smells of the holidays may be a trigger for survivors.

If there is a survivor you love and care for, especially if that survivor is yourself, we hope that you’ll find this video and summary from GRACE, Godly Response to Abuse in the Christian Environment, helpful.

Therefore, we are providing the self-care resources below. You’ll find ways to engage in accompaniment and join community on other pages on this website.
