Journey Together: Coffee & Conversation
Journey Together is a community breakfast hosted by Journey to Bethany and the diocese’s Victim Assistance Coordinator. We’re inviting people from across the diocese — especially you — to share their needs regarding healing from the clergy sexual abuse crisis. Over coffee and breakfast, we’ll explore what healing looks like—through honest dialogue, compassionate listening, and the simple grace of being together.
This event offers a restorative space for all who have been impacted to express their needs and explore ways to support each other. As we continue to build this ministry, we believe healing services shouldn’t be offered to survivors, but created with them.
Whether you’re new to the journey or have walked this path for a while, your voice matters. Come hungry for connection and leave nourished in spirit.
What to Expect
- A delicious breakfast and plenty of coffee in a light-filled venue that is approachable for all.
- A gathering of people who are just learning about Journey to Bethany as well as those who have been involved for a while.
- An opportunity to share your ideas for healing and moving forward as a community.
- Small group conversations, sharing ideas.
- The opportunity to create a path forward led by the voices of those who have been harmed which includes victims-survivors, family and close supporters of survivors, and can extend to others in the Catholic community.
Who Should Attend?
This is an event for all those who have been harmed by clergy sexual abuse. This includes those who have experienced clergy sexual abuse themselves, close friends and family members of survivors, and people in the community who care.
What this isn’t
This breakfast is not a support group, and you will not be asked to share your story. If you need support, we host a monthly peer support group, and the fall session begins in September. We also encourage you to reach out to the VAC or Journey to Bethany if you just need to talk. Learn more.
